Blogrounds VIII
posted in - Blog rounds, - Dobbs |Palmdoc has been rather busy the past few days (playing BF2 – only thing speedy enough on the current slow internet!), so he asked me to take over the blogrounds this week.
E. coli talks about Doing locums and how a “standby call” turned out to be a very busy one.
Heart of the matter asks Where has all the magic gone? Good account of how drug trials can go horribly wrong, in this case affecting Pfizer’s torcetrapib. Millions of dollars (surely can’t be billions HOTM?) gone down the drain. And you wonder why new drugs are so expensive?
There have been a number of contemplative posts as 2006 ended. We recount the highs and the lows as we look forward to what 2007 brings. Photophobia poses some soul-searching questions for us. d.y.t.i.a finished her housmanship, got a new car and found a new love — congratulations! After a difficult start, Delrina has settled into housemanship and offers some advice to new HOs/MOs who just returned from overseas. She sometimes wishes she had taken up IT instead! Spinosum had a very fruitful year — he passed his Part One, got married and bought a new house, amongst other things — congratulations! The Tent shares with us all the Small steps forward he has taken in the past year.
The New Year has brought new changes to some of us — for CoolClare a spacious new hard drive — wonder what she needs all the space for?
Sbanboy starts the New Year with a new job and a new plan for personal fitness. UK Doc had a stormy start to the New Year. Paces MRCP has been “taken over” by Axonopathic who passed his MRCP recently, as eMRCPian is busy with his wedding and honeymoon. Congratulations to both of you!
Doc1s1n has a very interesting account of his year end trip to Penang, that served as a lovely walk down memory lane for me (not that I have ever hiked up Penang Hill!). Shah reminds us of the sad aftermath of the Kota Tinggi floods.
Last, but not least, Jimbo shares with us his hilarious take on the Curse of the Golden Corset Flower, that is when he was not distracted by the heaving bosoms breasts upper torsos of the female cast. I loved the plot summary Jimbo (Spoiler Warning Alert!) and your blogpost gets my vote for most Entertaining Blog of the Week!
