A letter to the Sun on the IJN issue
posted in - Featured site, - Nation, - Palmdoc |You might be interested to read a cardiologist’s opinion in his letter to the Sun. I think he brings up some salient points:
1) It is impossible to have one heart center to serve 27 million rakyat
2) While the Government is trying to set up various heart centres around the country, IJN is in a position to train people to staff these centres. Has it succeeded or failed to do so?
3) How much research has been conducted in the IJN?
There is more to being a premier national heart centre than just performing mainly “bread and butter work”.
On the issue of the proposed IJN takeover by Sime Darby, KJ John has written to Malaysiakini an article titled Privatisation or piratisation?
I echo his sentiments that doctors are not commodities like cattle, palm oil or whatever. We are knowledge workers and I think whoever manages these hospitals or institutions should realise that without your knowledge workers, you cannot function.
