Free AO Surgery Reference available
posted in - Featured site, - Palmdoc, - Teaching, - Tips |Aron from the AO Foundation has written in to say that they are making their AO Surgery Reference freely available to all the surgeons worldwide.
This is good news for all orthopaedic and trauma surgeons. The reference starts of with a picture of the human skeleton and you can select the anatomical area of interest, drill down according to the fracture and following that the management etc.
This reminds me of a little joke I recall from my medical student days. While the origin of the name AO Foundation stems from the German , Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (German for Association for the Study of Internal Fixation) the operative recommendations for fracture treatment also leads one to assume AO stands for “Always Operate”!
